Anyone fancy some sweets?

I love sweets. I know it's bad but ever since I started eating food way back when, sweets for me have
been the most loveliest things to eat and enjoy. I love the thought of them, the reality of them and the taste of them.
Can you spot me?
So for today's post I thought I'd share a little sweet shop that I adore. It's called Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe. Isn't it a cute name. As you can see from the pictures it's a really old fashioned style shop that caters to all my taste buds. Specifically my sweet buds. :)
Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe popped up around three years ago in my neighbouring town. I've since seen a few more pop up all over the place. They sell everything from hard candies to sherbet dips. The smell when you walk in is lovely too as they have a lovely hand made chocolate section. So basically the whole store is a sort of Charlie & The Chocolate moment. If only they had the everlasting gobstoppers?

Here's what I got...
I think my favourite sweets have to be from the jars behind the counter. All the hard sweets like rhubarb & custards and sherbet pips. But I also love flying saucers and fizzy cola bottles especially the bubblegum flavoured ones. Yum..

I spent £7 in store the other day, yes I did say £7. I know all just for sweets but I just love them plus you can't find the ones I love in normal shops. Anyway I picked up quite a few lovelies including funny money (edible paper!) and a fizz wiz. Now who remembers them from long ago childhood days? Shops like this make me so happy as I love the idea that years ago all shops looked like this. I get bored of every store looking the same nowadays. It's nice to have a little unique shop for us to go in again.
Have you got a store near you?

Thanks Guys
Love Hayley

  1. I love Mr Simms!! Out nearest one is in Manchester though (and being that I live in Scotland) that's a wee bit too far to travel lol. I am kinda obsessed with their Dr Pepper Cherry Chocolate but don't think they make it anymore :-(. Love your sweets haul! Xx

    1. Such a shame you don't have one nearer to you. I'll have to bring you some bits in December. I'll see if they have the chocolate you mention! ;)

  2. What a wonderful post! We don't have Mr. Simms in Germany though... ๐Ÿ˜–
But it would be my death anyways! I would go in there every day! Hell, I'd even work there and be my own best custumer! Those Lollipops you got are so cute! Wrapped like little fruits... Do you know the flat round lollies with the Images in the middle? Flowers, butterflies, smileys...

I really love your SWEET post!

  4. I love this sweet shop! There's one in my local shopping centre and it's strategically placed right by the exit so I always find myself in there on the way out! I love that the American candy reminds me of my childhood in the States. :)

  5. I love sweets although I shouldn't really eat them! My grandma used to have a sweet shop when I was younger and my favourite thing ever was making up mix ups for people when I helped out on a Saturday.

  6. Great post! I love Mr Simms, I don't really eat sweets that much but their amazing selection of vegetarian pick 'n' mix sweeties always makes me happy! It's great for presents too, I love their old fashioned sweet collections all wrapped up in cellophane - perfect little stocking fillers.
